COMMITTED AT SPEED AND EXCELLENCE

Sam has excelled in every arena she has stepped into, including the Olympic stage in Paris and delivered when it mattered most. The first Filipina fencer to represent the Philippines at the Olympics in 32 years, and a Penn State graduate who earned her degree mid-qualification, she thrives where others would choose one path over the other.

"Since I was young, sports and academics have always been a big part of my life. I’ve been a student-athlete since third grade and earned a spot on the Philippine National Team by the age of 14."

Can you share a silent win or personal success that often goes unnoticed?

"One of my silent wins is the discipline and consistency I’ve developed over the years to balance my roles as a student and an athlete. It’s not something that gets celebrated, but the countless early mornings, late nights, and sacrifices I’ve made to stay on top of both my academic and athletic commitments have shaped who I am today."

BEST CAREER ADVICE YOU'VE RECEIVED.

"The best lesson I’ve learned from my experience is the importance of patience in pursuing your dreams. Trust in your own timing and know that what’s meant for you will come when the time is right."
