What do you do best in your profession?

Since I was young, sports and academics have always been a big part of my life. I’ve been a student-athlete since third grade and earned a spot on the Philippine National Team by the age of 14.

One of my greatest achievements is successfully balancing both academics and my chosen sport, fencing. Last year, I qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics while simultaneously earning my degree in Accounting from Penn State University.

Can you share a silent win or personal success that often goes or have gone unnoticed?

One of my silent wins is the discipline and consistency I’ve developed over the years to balance my roles as a student and an athlete. It’s not something that gets celebrated, but the countless early mornings, late nights, and sacrifices I’ve made to stay on top of both my academic and athletic commitments have shaped who I am today.

Even during the busiest times like preparing for the Olympics while finishing my degree, I managed to stay focused and deliver my best in both areas. The entire process is a personal success that may not be visible to others but means a lot to me.

Best career advice you’ve received.

The best lesson I’ve learned from my experience is the importance of patience in pursuing your dreams. Trust in your own timing and know that what’s meant for you will come when the time is right.
